Question:
Is there a race from Sandhamn to Saltsjöbaden after the Sandhamn Regatta?

Yes. A non official race will be held from Sandhamn to Saltsjöbaden on
Monday 4 August. Skippers\' meeting in the morning for briefing on the course etc
Question:
What provision is made for spectators? Uppdated 2008-07-10
Answer:
The best way is to take part. But in the unlikely event of someone coming without a boat we
will make arrangements for you to view the races at close quarters. The course goes close
to land, offering a good view to spectators, but there will also be an opportunity to join a
spectator boat. If you want to be quite sure of securing a place on such a boat you are
recommended to apply for a place straightaway. There is always the risk of overbooking,
and first come first serve...

We now have a spectator boat for eight persons Wednesday to Saturday.
Email interest, and the number of people and day(s) to jubilee@smry.org
.
Question:
What kind of course will it be for the championship?
Answer:
Windward/leeward courses with split- and gatemarks.
Question:
Can I take part if I have not raced before?
Answer:
Absolutely. This is a jubilee event for the Square Metres and everyone is welcome,
irrespective of ability or experience. But a good knowledge of the rules of the sea is essential.
Membership of a sailing club in Sweden or abroad is a requirement. And the boat should be
classified and insured.
Question:
What are the sailing conditions like?
Answer:
Baggensfjärden is some way from the open sea, rather like an inshore lake.
The lake is fairly confined and well-known for tricky and variable winds. well protected,
with negligible wave height irrespective of wind direction. Suitable for all square metre classes.
Tactics will be more decisive than boatspeed. The national Dragon (2007) and J80 (2006)
championships have been held here recently. Every year KSSS arranges an Olympic regatta
here in the dinghy classes with 400-500 paritcipants.
